Back in the Saddle

Last week was one of firsts - my first week back at work and week one for Isaac at daycare. The notorious first day drop-off was neither emotional nor teary-eyed. Isaac was in a fantastic mood and Momma spent a long time reviewing “Isaac-isms” with his caretakers. At work I spent my first day unpacking my new office from six years worth of pack-ratting and was able to squeeze in a quick lunch with the ladies. I can’t say that I necessarily get more intelligible conversation at work but I do get a break from carrying around my little sweet potato who insists on being carried high on the shoulder so he doesn’t miss a beat.

At Bright Horizons daycare in the Sweet Pea room Isaac has won the hearts of his caretakers and “classmates” with his charisma and conversational skills (the kid talks—okay, babbles—almost nonstop); oh, and of course it helps that he loves to smile and laugh. Isaac stays busy at daycare with playtime outside, stories, tummy time, listening to music, napping, going to the gym to watch the toddlers toddle, and painting. In fact, produced on his first day, is Isaac’s masterpiece, Kicking in Purple. Beginnings can be nerve racking but Momma and Isaac are both doing really well.

Here are photos from his first week. Click the picture to launch a fancy slideshow.
