About a year or so back I decided to give up on my old scraggly electric razor and go back to shaving the way grandpa did, with a big ol’ safety razor. I trolled around the web a bit looking for where to buy kit, and everyone said shop at Lee’s Safety Razors. I checked it out, the price was right, so I ordered a razor and some blades. Routine.
Last month I ran out of blades, so I webbed in another order for some more blades and some soap. About a month later I realized I never got my order, and I fired off an email asking if they could track it down. So this is where it gets tasty. 30 minutes later I get this response:
Hi Brian: I show this order as shipped. I will mail you a new order tomorrow. Some well groomed postman is out there!
Thanks and sorry,Lee
And 3 days later I get my kit in the mail. That is a level of customer service I have never experienced before on the web. No questions, no hassles, just a personal note saying I’m sorry and here’s how I’m fixing your problem. I love it when businesses do simple stuff like that, because it is such a damn easy way to make people happy. And yet most business can’t be bothered.
So now I’ll be shopping at Lee’s as long as I grow beard, and I recommend that everyone else do the same.
