On Monday Isaac will be two months old. So that went by pretty quickly! He is certainly a growing boy. Isaac is over 10 pounds now, but still a squirmus. He’s very alert when he is awake, looking around at stuff and reaching out and grabbing things. He pulls his mama’s hair a lot, luckily a problem from which I am immune. His eyes track you around which is pretty cool. He has started to make much more distinct noises. We can definitely recognize his I’m hungry cry, and sometimes he coos when he sees something he likes. He smiles! The other day I had him on my knees and I explained to him what a smile was, and when I grinned he smiled right back at me.
His neck muscles are getting stronger and he can hold his head up for a little bit, but he isn’t too good at sitting up by himself. I got him to for a bit in the picture and then he started screaming. Oh yeah, he does a lot more screaming now. He gets much fussier now for no reason we can discern; he’s a lousy burper so maybe he’s got some discomfort in the belly. He’s still not the best in the world at playing as you can see:
Frankly, he is the cutest baby ever (apart from the screaming). Probably the only thing cuter than him now will be him next month, so we are looking forward to that. And the sleeping; he still doesn’t sleep or eat on schedule. So it’s good he’s cute.
