Week 30! Baby is aware of light and dark, and can follow a light source back and forth, which is kind of creepy. Blossom is still working her way through her cold and has yet to fully recover her sense of taste. Which may explain why she’s a little underweight as of her last doc visit. She was supposed to gain 4 lbs and only gained a half lb. So it’s ice cream for breakfast from now on.
We have been working hard on getting the house in order, trying to purge as much crap as we can and stock up on all the little things we’ve been putting off. So most of last weekend was shopping and returning and re-shopping. Grueling, but we are starting to get some nice results. We have started some investigation towards procuring baby supplies, but man is there a lot from which to choose. I’m a little overwhelmed. Hopefully Blossom will pick up the slack on that front; p’raps if I keep up with the breakfast making.
This week we got a tour of the delivery and maternity center of Emerson Hospital. The labor and delivery rooms seem pretty nice and they ran through all the basics of what happens when you arrive. Luckily we get lots of handouts to go over at home because I’m pretty sure we’ll forget most of this. While we were touring a baby was born and we got to see the little man getting weighted and tested. I thought was a nice coincidence until I asked how many babies are born there, and our teacher said 80 to 100 a month.
Today Blossom is off visiting Melissa who just found out she is pregnant. My job is to clean the basement. I suspect this is a good example of the parity I can expect for the next 3 months.
