The MathWorks

Today I embark on an exiting new adventure in my world of work. I have terminated by employment with Kronos Incorporated, and accepted a position with The MathWorks. The MathWorks is a software company that makes, uh, math software. I will be a Sr. Usability Specialist, which means that I will do the same kind of stuff I have been doing with all of the software companies at which I have worked. Namely, trying to design stuff that is usable by people. My job at The MathWorks will be pretty interesting because I will be working with the internal tools group, trying to make software used by developers to make other software.

So I’m pretty excited. I like all of the people I met, and the company has a good reputation for treating its employees well. My commute is relatively easy, what with the company being located in Natick. The only drawback is that there isn’t a bagel place on my way there, so I will have to re-arrange my breakfasting. And so, to work!
