Went to Colorado Springs to visit Dad, Marie, and Gram. I got in Thursday but Dad and Marie were delayed in Denver and didn’t get in until late. Friday we went out and got edibles to set up and all day nibble spread. Uncle Moose and his SO came over in the early afternoon and we ate and opened some presents. That night we went to church; I reaffirmed religion is not for me. Saturday we got up and drove to Golden to visit Marie’s family. Her son Ryan was there, along with various brothers, sisters, and cousins. We had a turkey feast and opened some more presents. Then we collected Ryan and drove up to the cabin for the night. Sunday I was out of there, so they drove me to Denver and dropped me off at the airport. I found out all flights to Boston were cancelled due to weather, so I flew to St. Louis and spent the night in a hotel. Monday I went to the airport and after much chaos ended up flying to Washington D.C. then to Boston. Love that air travel. It was lovely to see that branch of the fam, despite sleeping like ass in Gram’s 92 degree apartment.

My mom came into town to visit for the week. Blossom had to pick her up at the airport because I was stuck in transit. She had never driven by herself to the Boston airport, and was quite nervous because it is extraordinarily difficult to get around here. But she made it without incident — kudos to her! While mom was here we cooked up some christmas feast, drank some wine, and worked on painting our freshly remodeled attic. I dubbed us the Clumsy Ox Painting Co, after judging our work.

We did squat for New Year’s. Went to bed early. The rest of the time was relaxation for Brian. Blossom was off working while I sat around the house working on websites and reading and doing whatever the hell else I felt like. Sweet.
Wednesday, Jan 5, 2005 – Sunday, Jan 9, 2005
Wednesday we got married. A quick ceremony at the Justice of the Peace’s house, followed by some errands. Then we dropped the dogs off at the kennel and headed up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. We stayed at the Inn at Jackson which was very nice. Wednesday night we headed to the 1785 Inn for dinner, which was highly delicious. We split a piece of blueberry pie which ranks among the best pie of all time. Thursday we poked around North Conway and did some shopping. Friday we took a snowshoeing hike and did some ice skating. Saturday we headed north a bit and got a free cross country ski lesson, and did a bunch of laps on the practice course. Then it was back home on Sunday to pick up the dogs and try to contemplate returning to work.
