Friends, I lean toward the conservative side. Not the nutty right-wing take the Bible verbatim side, but the stop taking my money and giving it to the great unwashed side.
But I take great delight in this column by George Will, not because it aligns with my politics but because it is a fearsome demonstration of the kind of reporting we should be getting about the presidential candidates.
The media has done a lousy job of defining where these people stand on the issues of note. Mostly I hear about who is ahead in the polls. For whom the great unwashed are voting is an inconsequential datum in my considerations when exercising my franchise. Unlike the answers to Mr. Will’s questions, which I would find genuinely informative.
