Have any new board games been released in the last five years? Taboo was the last game I remember making any kind of mark in the media, and I played that in 1994.
It feels like this is a little tiny piece of information that is suggestive of the direction our culture is headed. All the best games I remember playing involved language and multiple players (except for Half Life — that was just a fine computer game!). Using English properly and having conversations are not compatible with our sitcom world, so corporations produce endless variations of video games and bad tv shows. Americans seem only to be interested in consuming these products which provide a nice anesthetic for the thinking process.
I am going to go see if my special lady friend wants to play Scrabble.
